Before you start
It’s great that you want share your favorite places with us where vegans and non vegans can eat together. By adding markers you make a valuable contribution to the community. Verification of new markers usually takes less than 24 hours.
I recommend that you first read through the description of the individual fields below. But you can also start right away. It’s pretty simple. Fill in the form – submit – finished.
Your feedback is needed. If you have problems with filling out the form or any suggestions for improvement, please write to arnold@vegansandfriends.com!
Add your own marker
Detailed description of each field
Please read this, so you can fill in the fields optimally! Thank you.
Marker name
Here you insert the name of the place you want to mark. Example: Grand Cafe or Spagos
Marker address or GPS coordinates
In general, it is sufficient if you enter the postal address. Example: Friedrichstrasse 181, 10117 Berlin, Germany.
If, in your opinion, the marker has not been placed correctly, you can drag-and-drop it to the right place directl on the map. If it is initially displayed totally elsewhere, please check if you have entered the correct address!
Alternatively, you can enter GPS coordinates in the field. Example: 52.500400,13.363675
Marker Description
Here you can briefly describe the place. What is the style? How big is the place? What are the special features?
Marker Link
In this field you can enter the website of the place. Please use the following format: http://www.domain.com
Picture
Do you have a nice picture of the place? Then you can upload it here. Please make sure that the file size is less than 1 MB, ideally even less than 100 KB!
Marker-Category
Check one or more categories. If you think that a category is missing, please write me an email. I will gladly add one if needed.
Phone
To make the registered phone number clickable and it hence can be called directly from the smartphone, please enter it as follows:
I know, that’s a bit awkward. But the long-term benefit for all is enormous. You can copy the line from here. Just hover over it. A “copy to clipboard” button will appear. And I will do my best to automated this in the near future.
It is important that you write the number after “tel:” without spaces, put a plus sign in front of the country code (+1 for the U.S. and Canada, +49 for Germany, +43 for Austria, +41 for Switzerland, etc.) and then leave out the zero before the local or mobile phone code (if relevant). The repeated number in the second part is the display variant in the telephone field. That means it will be shown in the marker info window like that.
Opening hours
I prefer the following international notation. Example: Mon – Sun, 10:00 – 22:00h or Mon – Fri, 17:00 – 24:00h, Sat – Sun 17:00 – 02:00h
The main thing is that everyone can understand it.
Here again there is a spelling that allows a direct click. This works as follows:
Reservation
In this field you can directly link to the reservation page of the place. I’ll show you how it works. If there is no such thing, you can write “by phone” or “by E-mail” in the field. Or “no reservation possible”.
The part “target=…” ensures that the link is opened in a new tab or window.
Menu
Here you can proceed analogously to the field “reservation”. If there is no online menu, just write “not available”!
Kitchen
In this field you can indicate which kitchen the place offers. Eg: Italian, Korean, International, Indo-Chinese etc.
